Why I Joined Motorq

Motorq recently appointed Adi Bhashyam as President. In his first post, he shares what drew him to the company and what he is focused on.


I have spent my career at the intersection of large enterprises, cutting-edge technology, and real business outcomes. In my prior company, I had a front-row seat to learn and address the challenges of deploying and scaling AI solutions at some of the world’s largest organizations.

Earlier this year, as I was starting to assess where I would go next, it became clear that this landscape is shifting — and how! The global AI revolution is creating new categories, new players, and new opportunities. And yet, what enterprise technology firms must get right has not changed: creating future-proof technology that can keep up with the shifting landscape, maintaining customer obsession, and developing trusted customer relationships to cut through the noise.

In Motorq, I found all of these factors in spades: a software-first, OEM-first vehicle data and AI foundation, a team of customer-obsessed and value-focused individuals, and trusted relationships built on genuine intimacy with customers and OEMs. All of this pointed to serve a huge market that is moving towards Motorq.

The automotive industry is increasingly also a data and AI story — and is moving toward a world where OEM data, without the headache of hardware add-ons, becomes the foundation for everything auto. Better decisions about vehicles. Smarter operations. AI-assisted workflows that help fleet operators, dealers, and lenders do their jobs faster and more effectively. That shift is already underway — 96% of vehicles in North America today are already connected capable.

Motorq has already built the foundation to connect, sense, and help operate this asset base. 12+ OEM relationships, 25+ vehicle brands, a 100% software-based approach.

Arun and the Motorq team have also built trusted partnerships with customers and automotive OEMs that have been developed carefully over years. That level of trust takes time and is earned through a genuine commitment to doing right by everyone in the ecosystem.

And of course — the people. A big part of why I made this decision to join was everyone I met along the way — including the co-founders, the team, and the Board. I’ve known Arun and Vivek, two of Motorq's co-founders, for over 20 years. And from everything I have seen over the last few days, the entire Motorq team takes real pride in doing right by our customers and partners. That combination of talent and character is rare, and it is one of the things I am most excited to be a part of.

For our customers, my near-term focus is straightforward: get close to the people we serve, be curious, and continue to innovate on their behalf. I have always believed that curiosity about the customer is what separates companies that earn loyalty from those that expect it.

For our partners, I look forward to rolling up my sleeves to build more together and make it easier to unlock value across more use cases within your ecosystems.

We are at a unique moment at Motorq. The foundation is strong, the market is moving in our direction, and there is a real opportunity ahead to unlock more value for the ecosystem and for Motorq. This is not just a job; it is a personal commitment to help build something that makes a difference. I’m excited to be here and I’m looking forward to what we will build together.
